Women Journalists and Nigerian women in general have been tasked to step into the new year with hope, vigour and optimism, making retrospections that would help them readjust their sails for a more productive and prosperous new year this 2025.
This charge was contained in a new year message from the National Secretariat of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ, signed by Wasilah Ladan, National Secretary of the association.
Aisha Ibrahim Bura, National Chairperson, applauded women journalists for their resilience in the outgone year and implored them to double their strides and efforts and be recommitted to their personal as well as professional
growth and development.
” While commending you all for making due diligence in squaring up with the challenges of the outgone year, I implore you to braze up for the challenges of the year 2025 and going forward.
“You have all made me and NAWOJ proud, in that while the tides of the outgone year swirled, you were in your optimum, doing your best for self and for humanity. “
She tasked women in general to subsume themselves in self development and to continue to brave the tides and remain undaunted, despite the several socioeconomic challenges that beset them.
“You have pulled off the highest heist against the issues of life that confront you as women. It is my ernest desire that you will continue to live above board, maintain your integrity and hold your heads high as you continue to litter the setbacks and break above the glass ceilings of all human limitations .”
The NAWOJ Chairperson stated that 2025 portends to hold great potential for women in both career, industry and politics and assured all that the association will continue to play its pivotal role as an advocate for the wellbeing of women, the girl-child and family institutions in Nigeria, and also lending her voice to global issues affecting families.
“While wishing you all a more fulfilling New Year where success is your springboard, I task you all to go and win, for self and for humanity! “
