46 Guests, 30 Hours Still Count : Livinus Victor Undeterred in Longest Interview Attempt

‎The energy inside Tangier Hotel, Utako, Abuja is electric as young Nigerian journalist Livinus Chibuike Victor pushes beyond 30 hours in his daring attempt to break the record for the world’s longest interview marathon.

‎With over 44 guests been interviewed and the 45th a journalist and security expert Collins Ajibola currently who just stepped out of the stage and the 46th guest on set at the 30 hour mark, Victor’s marathon effort has become more than just a personal challenge; it is now a celebration of resilience, storytelling, and the power of the Nigerian spirit. already interviewed and the 46th.



‎The marathon, which began on Sunday, September 28, 2025, has drawn wide attention and solidarity from colleagues across the country. The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) and several media professionals have rallied in support of the young reporter, describing his effort as a symbol of grit and passion in the profession.

Guests who graced today’s session includes, Former First Lady Imo State, Nneoma R. Okorocha, Chief Moji Makanjuola, Rtn. Evelyn Onyilo, Chief Ladi Bala all former Presidents of NAWOJ, Comrade Grace Ike Chairman NUJ FCT Council, Secretary NUJ FCT Comrade Jide Oyekunle, Assistant Secretary, Comrade Sharon Emephia, Chairperson NAWOJ, Comrade Bassey Ita Ikpang, Odita Sunday Joy Onu, Raphael Oni the Dean of Diplomatic Correspondents and a host of others.



‎“This is not just about breaking a record,” one of his colleagues remarked. “Victor is showing us what it means to stay committed to the craft of journalism asking questions, engaging minds, and documenting history without giving up.”



‎Throughout the 30-plus hours, guests from diverse fields politics, security, entertainment, health, entrepreneurship, and advocacy have taken the hot seat, lending their voices to the unfolding marathon. Each conversation adds a unique layer to the story Victor is telling: that journalism remains a tool for dialogue, enlightenment, and impact.


‎Observers say the journey is far from over, as Victor aims to hit the ambitious 72-hour and 30-second mark to set a new global benchmark.
