A cleric based in the Federal Capital Territory, Rev. Prophet Dr Hungbenu Michael Olusegun, has called on Nigerians to support a second term for Bola Ahmed Tinubu, citing ongoing economic reforms and improvements in security.

Speaking from his church headquarters in Abuja, Olusegun said Nigeria’s reform agenda requires continuity and stability to yield results. He emphasized national unity, urging citizens to look beyond ethnic and religious differences.

According to him, the current administration has implemented major economic changes, including the removal of fuel subsidies—saving over ₦400 billion monthly—and the unification of the exchange rate, which he said has attracted more than $2 billion in foreign inflows. He also highlighted the introduction of interest-free student loans and efforts to grant financial autonomy to local governments.

On security, the cleric acknowledged persistent challenges but pointed to progress, including the rescue of over 3,000 hostages, deployment of new military equipment, and a reduction in oil theft levels.

He appealed to the Federal Government to intensify efforts to curb violence, particularly attacks on vulnerable communities, and called for justice and lasting peace.

Olusegun also noted what he described as balanced representation in government appointments across regions and religions, adding that sustaining reforms into a second term is critical for long-term national development.

The statement, issued on April 20, 2026, forms part of a broader call for national unity and continued support for government policies.
