ADC Will Take Over Nigeria, Ebonyi Soon-Nwafor

By Nkechinyere Ewa-Okpara

Jennifer Adebi Nwafor, the Ebonyi State Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has declared that the party is poised to take over the leadership of the state through a strong grassroots campaign and unified coalition structure.

In an exclusive interaction, Dr. Nwafor expressed optimism about the future of the ADC in Ebonyi, stating that the party has experienced a remarkable surge in membership and interest following the recent coalition announcements. “Nobody knew that today, ADC would gain such momentum across the country. I’m truly grateful to God and all our coalition partners. In Ebonyi, just like elsewhere, we’ve gone back to the drawing board to strategize,” she said.

Dr. Nwafor revealed that over 2,000 new members had registered within four days, indicating a growing desire among the populace for change.

Consolidation and Outreach
According to the state chairman, ADC has intensified efforts to unify all coalition partners in Ebonyi and is planning several awareness programs to educate the public on the party’s vision and principles. “We’re holding stakeholder meetings and planning debates and summits to formally welcome new members and ensure everyone is under one united ADC umbrella,” she stated.

She also emphasized that ADC remains a single, united party nationwide. “There’s only one ADC. Any group or NGO coming in will align under this one identity,” she added. “Politics is about interest. I have no intention of betraying my party. I’m committed to supporting ADC all the way.”

She dismissed rumors linking her to the APC or any form of government sponsorship. “I was duly elected during the May 2022 Congress, monitored by INEC. I’m not working for any government. No one planted me in ADC,” she said firmly.

Civil Service Allegations
Addressing speculations about her role as a civil servant, Dr. Nwafor clarified: “I’ve not been confirmed in any civil service appointment. Until then, I cannot be called a civil servant.”

On the National Coalition Directive
She also debunked rumors that ADC’s national leadership directed all state executives to resign for the sake of coalition restructuring. “That’s not true. At our last NEC meeting, only the national chairman and secretary agreed to step down. State chairmen, who were elected via congress, remain in position,” she explained.

Also speaking, Comrade Ukwu Lawrence, Deputy Chairman of ADC in Ebonyi, affirmed the party’s resolve to win future elections. “You don’t win elections on WhatsApp or Facebook. We’re on the ground. We have the people, and this is ADC’s time,” he said. “Whether you mention us positively or negatively, you’re helping us. We’re now a household name in Ebonyi.”

Lawrence assured that ADC is present in every political ward in the state and called on more citizens to join the movement. “In Ebonyi South, my home base, there’s no other song apart from ADC. We’re everywhere, and we’re ready.”
