AFIKPO LG Boss , Visits UBEYI, Afikpo and Amoha Devt Centers; Tasks Workers on Diligence

The Executive Chairman of Afikpo Local Government Area, NWACHI,Timothy A. U on Tuesday visited Ubeyi, Afikpo and Amoha Development Centers to monitor the ongoing staff verification exercise

The Council Chairman who was accompanied by Commissioner 1 and V in Ebonyi State Local Government Service Commission as well as Principal Officers of Afikpo Local Government charged the workers to be diligent and ensure effective service delivery.

He thanked Gov Nwifuru for prioritizing the welfare of workers in line with the people’s Charter of Needs Agenda and assured that he will on his own part continue to improve staff welfare to boost their morale and productivity

The Council Chairman who further took his time to explain the imperatives of the ongoing staff verification exercise, called for understanding and cooperation as it will assist in sanitizing the Local Government system for a robust implementation of impressive welfare packages for Workers and those at the grassroots

The Commissioners 1 and V in the Local Government Service Commission, Architect Augustine Nwechara N and Barr Dr Kelvin Ituma lamented the situation some Local Government workers would be living outside Ebonyi State ,abandoning their duty posts, but will be receiving salaries at the end of the month and vowed that the Commission will not tolerated such ugly development. They urged the workers to justify their take home pay by being on their duty posts from Monday to Froday and from 8am to 4pm, adding that failure to do that will attract sanction in line with Civil service Rules

The workers who spoke through their NULGE Chairmen: Comrade EmeKa Okoro(Ubeyi DC); Comrade Ruth Ekuma (Afikpo DC); and Comrade Sarah Aluu (Amoha DC) appreciated the State Governor,Rt Hon Builder Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru and the Council Chairman, NWACHI, Timothy A. U for their workers friendly policies and programmes and assured of the support of the workers to enable them realize their good intentions for them and the general public
