Agency Endorses Nigerian Comedian, MC Tagwaye Special Consultant To UTA Nigeria

Nigerian Comedian, Obinna Simon, popularly known by his stage name MC Tagwaye has been endorsed as a Special Consultant to United Towns Agency, UTA Nigeria for his contribution to the humanitarian space.

The Country President, United Towns Agency-United Nations, Princess Abigail Amalaha who presented a letter of Authority to MC Tagwaye in Abuja on Friday said the endorsement became necessary following his immense contribution to the youths and Nigeria in general as a Businessman, Stand Up Comedian and Philanthropist.
Amalaha said the UTA has been working closely with the Tagwaye Foundation to support the youths as the foundation’s aims and objective are in tandem with that of the humanitarian vision of UTA – to support the youths to actualise their dreams as well as help the less privileged in providing social services and facilitating their educational needs.
“MC Tagwaye, your appointment as a Special Consultant to UTA – Nigeria is a call to duty to put more effort in your commitment to advance the course of the less privileged and the needy in our society,” she charged the popular comedian.
She therefore urged well-meaning Nigerians to join hands with MC Tagwaye in ensuring that he succeeds in this assignment.
In his acceptance speech, MC Tagwaye thanked the leadership of the UTA in Geneva and Nigeria for the appointment.
He underscored the need to give back to society considering his background and the hardship people go through.
“Giving back to the community and society is something that one can not do without. If one understands the impacts; how far it goes, nobody will suffer in the society.
“Also, owing to my background, I understand clearly what it means for somebody to tell you he needs help and that is why in the course of my entertainment career, I made it a duty to open a foundation where people can get help and we can also liberate a lot of people.
“It is in line with this that I also accept this appointment. With respect to what we do, and what the organisation is into – helping people, helping different countries to make sure that life becomes affordable and bearable, I accepted this appointment the moment I was told that this is what the United Towns Agency is into, ” Nigeria’s philanthropist, MC Tagwaye said.
He also appealed to the general public to assist in lifting people in need, adding that UTA cannot do it alone.
“It is very important to understand that these are organisations that help other people but this can only be actualised when the society and the community put hands together to also make it happen.
The renowned stand-up comedian expressed delight, adding, “this great event today marks the beginning of good things both for Nigeria and Africa.”
