The Women in Security Summit and Awards (WINSEC) 2026 has received a significant boost following the commitment of African Independent Television (AIT) to provide extensive media coverage, strategic publicity and live broadcast support for the prestigious event.

The assurance was given by the management of Daar Communications Plc, owners of AIT, when the National Chairperson of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Hajiya Aisha Ibrahim, who also serves as Chairperson of the WINSEC Committee, led members of the WINSEC Secretariat on a courtesy visit to the media organization in Abuja.

Speaking during the visit, the Chief Executive Officer of Daar Communications Plc, Chief Marcel Anyanyechi, lauded NAWOJ for initiating a platform dedicated to celebrating the resilience, dedication, sacrifice and outstanding achievements of women serving within Nigeria’s security architecture.

According to him, the Women in Security Summit and Awards is a timely intervention that not only recognizes excellence but also inspires greater patriotism, professionalism and commitment among security personnel and stakeholders working towards a safer Nigeria.

Chief Anyanyechi emphasized that addressing the nation’s security challenges requires collective action and stronger collaboration among the media, security agencies, government institutions and citizens.
He reiterated AIT’s readiness to partner with the organizers to ensure the success of the summit and awards ceremony.

“As a media organization committed to national development, we recognize the importance of honouring those who make daily sacrifices for the peace, stability and security of our nation. We will work with you, partner with you and collaborate with you to ensure that the event is successful,” he stated.

As part of its support package, AIT pledged to provide live coverage of the awards ceremony, comprehensive news reporting of the summit, promotional broadcasts across its platforms, scroll announcements ahead of the event, as well as technical and professional support to enhance the quality and reach of publicity materials.

The media giant also reaffirmed its commitment to promoting national security awareness, public enlightenment and responsible journalism through strategic partnerships that contribute to nation-building.

Earlier, Hajiya Aisha Ibrahim expressed appreciation to the management of Daar Communications Plc for its warm reception and unwavering support for the initiative.
She described WINSEC as a strategic platform designed to deepen conversations around national security, peacebuilding, gender inclusion, leadership and sustainable development while recognizing individuals who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to the security and progress of Nigeria.

Themed, “Celebrating Courage, Passion, Loyalty, Commitment and Sacrifice of Service in Securing the Nation,” the Women in Security Summit and Awards (WINSEC) 2026 is scheduled to hold on June 30, 2026, at the Transcorp Hilton, Abuja.

The event is expected to attract top security chiefs, policymakers, media executives, development partners, civil society actors and other critical stakeholders who will deliberate on issues of national security, leadership and inclusion while honouring outstanding women and champions of security across the country.

For the organizers, AIT’s endorsement and media partnership represent a major milestone in the drive to amplify the voices, achievements and sacrifices of those working tirelessly to secure Nigeria.
