The Chairman of Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area, Hon. Anas Muktar Danmaliki, has appointed Professor Mamun Mustapha as the new Education Secretary of the council.
Prof. Mustapha, an indigene of Dawakin Tofa, becomes the first professor to be appointed as an education secretary in any local government across Kano State.

A Professor of Electrical Engineering at the Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology, Wudil, Mustapha has held several academic and administrative positions, including Head of Department, Electrical Engineering; Deputy Dean; and currently Director of Consultancy Services at the institution.
Speaking on the appointment, the chairman said the move was aimed at repositioning the education sector of the local government, which he described as neglected in the past eight years. He expressed confidence that Prof. Mustapha’s wealth of experience in academia and management would bring a fresh perspective to grassroots education.
The council boss also commended the professor for accepting to serve at the local government level, describing it as a demonstration of commitment and patriotism.
“This is a reaffirmation of our collective resolve to revive education in Dawakin Tofa. With his expertise and our political will, we are determined to restore the sector to its pride of place,” Danmaliki stated.
Prof. Mustapha, on his part, pledged to work closely with stakeholders to strengthen basic education in the LGA, saying his appointment represents a call to service to his community.
