The people of the ancient Amagu Erimogwudu Kingdom in Ikwo South Development Centre, Ebonyi State, have endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, and the member representing Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. (Comrade) Chinedu Ogah, for re-election ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The endorsement was made during a civic gathering at Amagu, which attracted political appointees, traditional rulers, community leaders, and representatives of women and youth groups from across the four wards of the kingdom.
Traditional rulers were led by His Royal Highness, Eze Isaiah Otubo, while notable attendees included members of the College of Professors, commissioners such as Hon. Dr. Ilang Donatus and Hon. Oguzor Offia Nwali, the APC State Working Committee, and various grassroots organizations, including Ada Ikukuoma Women, Ebonyi Market Women, and Ugwumba Cultural Dance Odeligbo.
Speaking on behalf of Governor Nwifuru, Mr. Paul Nwoghia commended the community for their peaceful political engagement and called on them to continue supporting leadership driven by service and development.
“Take the battle positively. Don’t go violent,” he said. “The government appreciates your mobilization and peaceful approach. Power comes from God, and leadership is best achieved through service, not conflict.”
Nwoghia, who conveyed the governor’s gratitude, described the endorsement as a spontaneous expression of faith in the present administration.
“The governor did not sponsor this gathering, yet you came together out of conviction. We will take your message to him, and he will have no option but to listen to the people’s voice,” he added.
In his remarks, the member representing Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. (Comrade) Chinedu Ogah, thanked the people for their unwavering support, which he said has inspired his commitment to community service since 2019.
Ogah urged residents to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and prepare for active participation in the 2027 elections, noting that civic engagement is vital for sustaining democracy and ensuring accountability.
“Voting is the strongest tool for accountability and good governance,” he said. “Those who fail to register or obtain their voter cards should not expect to benefit from government programs.”
Also speaking, the President General of Amagu General Assembly, Prof. Anthony Itumo, said the event was both an endorsement and a civic sensitization program aimed at appreciating the development strides of the federal and state governments while mobilizing residents for voter registration.
“We are here to appreciate President Tinubu, Governor Nwifuru, and Hon. Ogah for their contributions to infrastructure, education, and empowerment. The best way to show appreciation is to participate actively in elections,” he said.
Prof. Itumo commended Hon. Ogah for his sustained investment in education and empowerment, noting that since 2019, he has sponsored free WAEC registration for students across all wards of the constituency.
Representing the APC State Chairman, Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha, the State Secretary of the party, Hon. Charles Ofoke, applauded the people of Amagu Erimogwudu for their unity and support for the ruling party. He urged them to continue promoting peace and political inclusiveness ahead of the 2027 elections.
“The APC remains committed to deepening democracy through people-centered governance. Your show of solidarity today demonstrates confidence in our leaders and our shared vision for progress,” Ofoke said.
The event featured cultural performances, solidarity songs, and displays of traditional heritage, reflecting the people’s unity, loyalty, and readiness to support peaceful and development-oriented leadership across Ebonyi State.
