Anambra 2025 : LAJA Urges Electorate to Back Parties with Proven Track Record of Development

By Gloria Tochukwu Umeweni

As the build-up to the Anambra governorship election gathers momentum, the League of Anambra Journalists in Abuja (LAJA) is calling on Ndi Anambra to prioritise competence, integrity, and a track record of people-centred development when casting their votes.

At this critical juncture in our state’s democratic journey, LAJA urges the electorate to look beyond mere promises and empty slogans but instead, support should be given to political parties and candidates who have demonstrated, through verifiable action, a commitment to the socio-economic progress and well-being of Anambra citizens.

The future of our state must not be mortgaged on the altar of sentiment or political patronage.

Ndi Anambra deserve leadership that is visionary, accountable, and genuinely invested in building a prosperous, secure, and inclusive society.

We encourage voters to assess candidates and parties based on their past performance, policy plans, and their capacity to deliver sustainable development across sectors such as education, healthcare, infrastructure, agriculture, youth empowerment, and security.

LAJA believes that informed voting is the bedrock of democracy. As such, we urge Ndi people at home and in the diaspora to actively participate in shaping the future of our dear state by making wise and intentional electoral choices.

The League remains committed to advocating for transparency, good governance, and a political culture rooted in the collective good.

This was contained in a Statement jointly Signed by Comrade Ikenna Okonkwo President, and Comrade Princess-Ekwi Ajide, Secretary.
