The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ebonyi State, Stanley Okoro Emegha, has expressed confidence that the ruling party will record a landslide victory in the 2027 general elections, insisting that opposition parties have no chance of taking over the state.
Emegha stated this while reacting to claims by opposition parties that they were preparing to unseat the APC in the next general election. He maintained that the party remains united from the state to the ward level.
He urged members of the public to disregard reports of internal crises and resignations, describing them as deliberate attempts by the opposition to mislead residents and create the impression that the ruling party was divided.
According to him, the recent altercation involving Senator Onyekachi Nwebonyi and some APC members on APGA uniform was an internal family matter that had already been resolved by the party leadership.
He likened the disagreement to disputes that occur within families, stressing that it was the responsibility of party leaders to reconcile aggrieved members and ensure peace within the APC.
The APC chairman also dismissed the recent resignation of some party members, alleging that many of those involved were political appointees who had been influenced by opposition figures to generate unnecessary publicity.
He claimed that some of the individuals who announced their resignation from the APC failed to resign from government-appointed positions through which they received monthly allowances, questioning the sincerity of their actions.
Emegha insisted that the APC remains strong across Ebonyi State and said the opposition lacked the grassroots support needed to defeat the ruling party, expressing confidence that the APC would emerge victorious whenever the elections are conducted.
