The national leadership of the Amalgamated APC Support Groups in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) which was led by Dr. Nasiru Ladan, as the Director General, of the group has announced Engineer Kilani Muhammad as the new acting Director General of the group.
The National Director of Media/Strategic Communications for the support groups, Dr. Ahmed Saleh made this known yesterday in a press conference on the state of affairs in the group over the lingering crisis precipitated by the alleged unbecoming conduct of the former Director General.
According to Saleh, their complaints about the leadership failure of Dr. Nasiru and the desire for a new Director General for the group have received very favourable attention and consideration from the national secretariat of the APC.
“He has failed to show capacity and vision, with little, or, no clue about how to effectively manage the affairs of the group. Consequently, therefore, we are delighted to announce that Dr. Nasiru Ladan, has from this moment seized to be the Director General of the Amalgamated APC Support Groups.
“The vote of no confidence, that had earlier on been passed on him, at the special emergency meeting of the majority of the group leaders, is hereby affirmed.
“Giving that the time of elections is drawing near, and to avoid a leadership vacuum, the group leaders have decided to appoint another Director General, in an acting capacity, to give direction, credible leadership and the required speed to the group to enable us cover lost grounds
“Accordingly, therefore, we hereby announce Engineer Kilani Muhammad as the Acting Director General of the Amalgamated APC Support Groups He is a seasoned politician, with wide networks across the country, and well known grassroots mobiliser,” he said.
He said that they have chosen him for the job because of his vast experience as an accomplished public administrator and businessman, that with his rich pedigree, they are convinced that Kilani, can provide credible and transparent leadership for the group towards helping it to achieve the objectives for which it was set up.
“What we ask from the party is understanding, cooperation, and support with the new leadership for the successful outcomes at the elections
“We are also using this event to formally proclaim the inauguration of the Executive Committee members along with the new director general. We should also like to urge all support groups that have left, or, about to live, to return as a new era and vista of hope has opened for the groups, with the new leadership,” he said.
