By Sharon Akuboh

Writer and media personality Azuka Jebose has marked a significant milestone in his battle against cancer, completing 35 days of radiation therapy at the Duke Cancer Center.

Jebose, who is currently battling stage 4 prostate cancer that has spread to his bones, celebrated the moment by ringing the ceremonial bell—a tradition observed at the center to signify the completion of radiation treatment.

The emotional occasion was witnessed by his daughter, who is also undergoing treatment for breast cancer and had previously marked her own bell-ringing milestone. She joined him in celebrating and documenting the moment.

Speaking after the ceremony, Jebose expressed deep gratitude to the medical team at Duke Cancer Center for their unwavering support throughout the treatment process.

He also appreciated his wife and children for their strength, love, and constant presence during what he described as a challenging period marked by hospital visits, side effects, and difficult mornings.

Despite completing the intensive phase of radiation therapy, Jebose noted that his journey is far from over, describing the experience as “one more step” in a longer fight for survival.

He further called on friends, supporters, and the public to continue standing with him, including through financial support to aid ongoing treatment, recovery, and his path toward healing.

Jebose’s story highlights resilience in the face of adversity, as well as the importance of family support and community solidarity in battling life-threatening illnesses.
