Chikelue Iloeyonsi Unveiled as Brand Ambassador for NUJ Football Tournament

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) FCT Correspondents’ Chapel has announced former Super Eagles defender, Chikelue Iloenyosi, as the brand ambassador for the second edition of the “Football for Friendship and Peace” tournament. The event is scheduled to take place in Abuja from July 11-13.

Iloenyosi, who is also the Chairman of Anambra Football Federation, was unveiled as the face of the tournament at the draw ceremony held at Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja. He expressed his honor and commitment to supporting the competition, stating that he will do so “massively”.

The three-day tournament will feature 12 teams, including the NUJ Correspondent chapel, NNPC Ltd, NPF, NCS, NIS, NBA, FHC, NMA, FRSC, AIBEN Group, NDLEA, and SWAN. The tournament is sponsored by the Managing Director of AIBEN Group, Andy Elerewe.

According to the Chairman of the Chapel, Jide Oyekunle, the participating teams will comprise players who are employed and above 35 years old, with no professional league experience in the last two years. The tournament aims to promote friendship and peace among journalists and other organizations.
