DLA Returns Hon. Faith Abu Unopposed for Otukpo/Ohimini Federal Constituency

Hon. Faith Abu has emerged as the unopposed winner of the Democratic Leadership Assembly (DLA) primary election for the Otukpo/Ohimini Federal Constituency of Benue State.

The exercise, which was conducted on May 27, 2026, took place at Saint Lawrence Primary School, Idepka, and was witnessed by party members, stakeholders, and electoral officials. Hon. Abu secured victory unopposed, reaffirming the confidence and support she enjoys among members of the party in the constituency.

The election was supervised by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) representative, Mr. Dan, while the process was conducted by Mr. Omeji Ochoechi. Observers described the exercise as peaceful, transparent, and in line with democratic principles.

Speaking shortly after being declared the winner, Hon. Faith Abu expressed gratitude to party members and supporters for the confidence reposed in her. She pledged to work tirelessly for the development of the Otukpo/Ohimini Federal Constituency and to promote policies that will improve the welfare of the people.

Party leaders and supporters who attended the exercise congratulated the candidate on her emergence and expressed optimism that her leadership and experience would contribute significantly to the progress of the constituency and Benue State at large.
