THE POOR AND DETERIORATING QUALITY OF EDUCATION IN THE STATE WAS CLEARLY UNACCEPTABLE IN GOVERNOR NWIFURU’S PEOPLE’S CHARTER OF NEEDS GOVERNMENT
Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru of Ebonyi State, upon assumption of office in 29th May 2023 , he made education his priority, he made huge investment in Education in Ebonyi State.
He took it upon himself to set an example for the nation a model of Government intervention in educational sector.
Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru ensured a proper diagnosis of the problem of deteriorating standard of education in the state and found that inadequate funding and lack of essential facilities are the significant variables. He then gave the two critical areas the kind of attention never seen any time in recent memory and hardly matched anywhere else in the country.
Renovating and Upgrading of the 3 model Secondary Schools in each of the 13 local government areas in Ebonyi State.
Approval of the Scholarship programmes for the Ebonyi indigenes from the Mastering Degree to the Doctorate level, 300 students will travel abroad for their Masters and Doctorate degree programs, while 700 students will have theirs in Nigeria.
He increased the subvention to Ebonyi State University by N50,000,000.00, totaling N820,000,000.00 in 8 months. He also paid off N300,000,000.00 owed by the previous government.
His Excellency, Right Honourable Builder (Dr) Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru had directed the state coordinators of WAEC and NECO examination board to make available, the total cost for the 2024 senior WAEC and NECO registration for all Ebonyians so that, it can be taken care of by the state government #first in the history since the creation of the #state.
There’s ongoing University of Information and Communication Technology at Oferekpe Agbaja Town, the University sets to be the best ICT University after the completion.
What of the Constant payment of Teacher’s salaries and packages, promotion is on going generally for Ebonyi workers under Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru’s administration.
