Over 500 members of the opposition from different Political Parties in the Eka-Awoke autonomous community, Ikwo local government area of Ebonyi state, Saturday resigned their members and joined the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC).
The new members of the APC were received by the state chairman, Stanley Okoro-Emegha, at the community primary school, Onuafiukwa, Eka-Awoke, in the Ikwo local govt area.

The member representing Ikwo/Ezza south federal constituency, Comrade Chinedu Ogah; the Ikwo APC local government chairman, Mr Sunday Onuzu; commissioner for border, peace and conflict resolution, Dr Ilang Donatus; the zonal Party officials, among other dignitaries were among stakeholders that received them.
Comrade Chinedu Ogah, in his remarks, noted that Governor Francis Nwifuru is a pacesetter in good governance and administration.

Ogah called on the people of Eka-Awoke to continue to give solidarity and support to Governor Nwifuru to enable him to bring more democratic dividends to the people, especially at the grassroots.
Comrade Chinedu Ogah, who announced that he had given jobs to many sons of EKa-Awoke and at the same time constructed a bridge promised to do more provided the community aligned itself fully with the APC-led government.
The state APC chairman Stanley Okoro Emegha, said at the rally that the defectors are equal to that of the local government.
He called on the people of Eka-Awoke to remain steadfast in their solidarity and support of the APC-led government.
The commissioner for Boarder, peace and conflict resolution, Dr Donatus Ilang, Peter Nworie, zonal chairman of APC, and other top APC officials, both from the state and zonal, commended Governor Ogbonna Nwifuru’s leadership ingenuity and urged the people of Eka- Awoke to remain committed in their support to governor Nwifuru’s administration.
