The member representing Ebonyi/Ohaukwu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Eze Nwachukwu Eze, has expressed confidence that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will record overwhelming victories in the forthcoming local government and 2027 general elections in Ebonyi State.
Eze, who spoke during an APC local government chairmanship campaign in Ohaukwu, said the growing support for the party across the state was an indication that other political parties had recognised the strength of the APC and its leadership.

He said the APC had remained united, stressing that the cordial relationship between Governor Francis Nwifuru, the party leadership and elected political office holders had contributed significantly to the party’s growing popularity.
According to him, political office holders from Ebonyi in Abuja have continued to work closely with the governor because “everyone is one,” adding that the unity would help the state grow faster.
Eze, a former chairman of the party, commended the APC leadership for maintaining unity and inclusiveness in the party.
On his stewardship as a federal lawmaker, Eze said he had fulfilled about 95 per cent of the promises he made to his constituents, particularly in the areas of water provision, housing, empowerment, education and other constituency interventions.
He disclosed that he would soon make available a 100-page report detailing his achievements within his 36 months in office.
The lawmaker also recalled that his performance earned him recognition in 2025 as the best lawmaker in constituency projects among 560 members evaluated.
Looking ahead to a possible second term, Eze said youth empowerment would be one of his major priorities.
He explained that his proposed youth programme would go beyond financial assistance, as successful entrepreneurs and professionals would be invited to mentor young people before they receive financial support to establish their own businesses.
He also promised to strengthen educational support through scholarships and improve security within the constituency, stressing that peace and security were essential for sustainable development.
Eze further disclosed plans to pursue the establishment of more federal institutions in the constituency, particularly a River Basin Development Authority, noting that the Southeast had significant agricultural potential that could be better harnessed.
He said the establishment of such an authority in the area would boost agriculture, create opportunities for residents and accelerate development.
Also speaking, the Special Assistant to the Ebonyi State Governor on Student Mobilisation, Princess Angel Odono, said the massive turnout at the campaign was evidence of the governor’s performance and investment in local government areas.
Odono urged residents to vote for APC candidates in the forthcoming local government election, as well as in the 2027 general elections.
She said the youths of Ebonyi had moved beyond violence and were now committed to participating in elections peacefully by voting and protecting their votes.
Odono disclosed that she had secured her Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) and had also supported the mobilisation of students across tertiary institutions in the state to register and obtain their voter cards ahead of the 2027 elections.
She said officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had been taken to various campuses to facilitate voter registration among students.
According to her, the youths were supporting the Nwifuru administration because they had benefited from its programmes and because young people had been given opportunities to serve in government.
She called on the youths to reject violence and ensure that their votes counted in future elections.
