Provost Fati Lami Abubakar Institute for Legal and Administrative Studies, Dr. Muhammad Aliyu Busa has reassured thecapability of the institute of producingmiddle classworkforce for the state as well as private sector driven economy.

Dr.Busa stated this while interacting with newsmen recently, on the academic activities of the institute, stressing theall-inclusiveparticipation of the stakeholders in the Affairs of the Institute for academic excellence.
He noted with concern, the infrastructural deficit of the institute despite the doggedness and the commitment of the management of school through internally generated revenue.

The Provost stressed, that with increased funding for accreditation of courses and recruitment of new staff to man the existing vacancies of the institute as well as other pressing demands, the institute can complete favorablewith-it counterparts nationwide.

He called on the government as donor Agencies as well as other stakeholders in the Educational Sector to key –into the system through funding’sin order tom achieve the desired goal of establishing the institute.
Dr.Busa, further explained, that in an effort to enhance teaching and learning, the institute has sponsored about 14 lecturers for their Doctorate degrees as well as 58 lecturers for Masters degrees and are currently adding value to the system.

He traced the success story to the Governor Alhaji Abubakar Sani led administration and canvassed for more support for the completion of projects at the institute for maximum benefits.
According to the project, the entrepreneurship programme of the institute is on course withstudents’key into as proactive measures to bridge the gap of unemployment for skills acquisitions to make graduates of the institute selfreliance/employable in the society.

On exam mal-practices and dress code, he added that the institute was not handling it with levity stressing, that the authority has put mechanism in place to checkmate the trends with a view of minimizing it drastically.

The Provost also added that when they came to the School Board, everything was very poor not like now that the school have moved on, the school have now built hostels, Practical Rooms & Laboratories for the students.

The School Provost used the opportunity to talk about the challenges facing in the institution, the major challenges facing the institute is lack of funds and also gaps being created by the staffs of the school. He pleaded with the government to help the school to move forward.
