Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has inaugurated a committee to develop the blueprint for his 2027 governorship campaign as part of efforts to consolidate the achievements of his administration and chart a strategic roadmap for a possible second term.

The committee, according to a statement issued on Friday by the Governor’s Director General of Media and Publicity, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, is tasked with reviewing the implementation of the administration’s 2023 policy document, “My Commitment for Kano,” and producing an updated Blueprint 2.0 that will guide governance and development priorities between 2027 and 2031.
Governor Yusuf said the committee would work under his direct supervision alongside that of the Deputy Governor, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo, to ensure the new blueprint reflects the aspirations of the people and builds on the successes already recorded by the administration.
The committee is chaired by Dr. Aminu Magashi Garba, while the Executive Chairman of Strategic Governance and Policy Coordination, Dr. Yusuf Ya’u Gambo, will serve as Secretary. Other members include senior government officials, policy experts, academics, technocrats and development professionals drawn from key sectors of the state’s economy.
Among those appointed are the Governor’s Special Adviser on Health Services, Dr. Ibrahim Musa; Technical Adviser on Education Reform, Mallam Haladu Muhammad; Director General of Media and Publicity, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa; Director General of the Kano State Investment Promotion Agency (Kan-Invest), Muhammad Nazir Halliru; Director General of Research and Documentation, Nana Asma’u Jibrin; and Director General of the Kano State Information Technology Development Agency (KASITDA), Dr. Bashir Abdu Muzakkar.
Also serving on the committee are the Managing Director of the Kano Agricultural and Rural Development Authority (KNARDA), Dr. Farouk Kurawa; Managing Director of Kano Agricultural Supply Company (KASCO), Kabiru Sani Yakubu; Executive Chairman of Ajingi Local Government Council, Dr. Abdulhadi Zubairu Chula; Senior Special Assistant on Women Education, Engr. Yesmin Mukhtar; as well as Dr. Halima Umar Sani, Dr. Kabiru Shehu, Barr. Musa Lawan Abdullahi, Dr. Nasiru Alasan Kabo, and Dr. Kabiru Ibrahim Getso.
The committee has been mandated to assess the implementation of the 2023 blueprint, identify outstanding programmes, and integrate them into the proposed Blueprint 2.0. It is also expected to define Governor Yusuf’s policy priorities and strategic vision for a second term while engaging stakeholders from government, the private sector, civil society and other interest groups to produce an inclusive, people-oriented development agenda.
The initiative is aimed at consolidating the gains of the present administration, promoting sustainable development, and providing a comprehensive policy framework to drive Kano State’s growth in the years ahead.
