By Omagha Idam

It is said that the golden fish has no hiding place and this became a powerful display of purpose rising from pain, as High Chief Dr. Chetachi Nwoga Ecton, a philanthropist and humanitarian, has announced a major medical outreach to honor the legacy of her late mother, Mama Ezinne Priscilla Chinyere Nwoga. The outreach, scheduled for July 5, 2025, at Garki Primary School, Abuja, aims to serve over 2,000 children with free medical services, economic support, and social interventions.

A Tribute to a Mother’s Legacy
Dr. Ecton described her mother as a “prayer warrior, first teacher, and moral compass,” whose life of compassion and quiet service laid the foundation for everything she has built. The medical outreach is a testament to the enduring impact of Mama Priscilla Nwoga’s life and legacy. “Even in mourning, we unite in purpose,” Dr. Ecton said, emphasizing that the outreach is not just an event, but a movement of healing and a call to compassion.

A Gathering of Support
The Chairman of the Occasion, His Royal Majesty Igwe Sir Samuel Ikechukwu Asadu, praised the initiative, noting that “the true joy is in the legacy Mama left behind is in her daughter, who has followed in her noble footsteps.” The Sa’Peyi of Garki, His Royal Highness Alhaji Dr. Usman Nga Kupi, urged the general public to come out en masse for the outreach, affirming that “Mama had a heart of gold, and I see that same spirit alive in her daughter.”

A Commitment to Community Health
Dr. Onogu Samuel, the lead medical officer for the outreach, assured that top-quality equipment and personnel have been mobilized, thanks to generous support from Dr. Ecton. The outreach is one of the most ambitious community health efforts seen in the FCT in recent times. Other supporters, including Amb. Nana Aisha Mahmoud, Dr. Adora Sydney Jack, and Comrade Noah Emmanuel, pledged to rally behind Dr. Ecton’s vision.

Carrying the Torch of Compassion
Dr. Ecton closed her speech with heartfelt gratitude and a solemn promise: “We will carry this torch of compassion forward. Mama may be gone in flesh, but she lives in every child we heal, and every life we touch.” The WIN Foundation, under Dr. Ecton’s leadership, continues to shine as a beacon of hope, powered by the spirit of her mother.

A Global Farewell
Dr. Ecton also announced that her home is now open for condolence visits, as preparations intensify for both the outreach and the global farewell program, which includes a service of songs in the U.S. in September, before her mother’s remains return to Nigeria in December 2025. With over four decades of humanitarian work, Dr. Ecton’s foundation is a testament to the enduring impact of her mother’s legacy.
