The Director Connectional Ministries of the United Methodist Church UMC, Rev. Dr. Philip Micah Dopah has call on Governor Kefas Agbu to declare state of emergency in the security sector, just as he did in the educational sector.

He made the call during the TEKAN/ECWA Third Quarterly Combined Service at the Christian Association of Nigeria CAN Secretariat, Jalingo.

“We want our ancestral land cleansed and free from terrorists and kidnappers to enable us access to our farms without fear of being molested or killed by the evil people who invade our land.

“We commend and acknowledge the efforts of our Governor Kefas Agbu in trying to tackle security challenges in the state.

“We call on him to declare state of emergency in the security sector just as he did in the educational sector, because our mountains and forests are no longer safe places.

“We are praying for the state government for God to give them the needed wisdom to tackle this challenge.

He also use the forum to call on the Federal Government to look into the current hardship faced by Nigerians as a result of fuel subsidy removal, adding that the palliative measures taken by the federal government to help the masses, is not helping the poor masses.

“The poor masses are not benefitting from it. One measure of rice and noodles can in no way alleviate the suffering that will bring lasting solution to the cry of the masses.

“We also call on the federal government to end insecurity and creat an enabling environment for Nigerians to work without fear.

He appreciated Governor Kefas Agbu for standing by the people and God for his faithfulness, sustenance and provision.

In his exhaustion, the Guest Speaker and Chairman, Evangelical Church Winning All ECWA, Taraba District, Rev. Samaila Tsabta urge Christians to cultivate the habit of thanking God at all times.

The Clergy who is also the Vice Chairman of TEKAN ECWA Block, Taraba State, dwelled on the Theme: Always Give Thanks for the Real Blessing of God.

In his remarks, the state Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria CAN, Rev. Isiah Magaji Jirapiye represented by Rev. Caleb Maigari, enjoined believers to always work in unity for the progress of Christendom.
