Taraba State officials of NANNM inaugurated, Seek members Support

Newly elected officials of Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives , NANNM, Taraba State branch have been inaugurated.

The inauguration ceremony was held at the Taraba State Nurses House , Jalingo.

The officials are, Nr. Pius Nathaniel, as the new Chairman, Nr. Ephesians as Vice Chairman, Nr. Clara Yamusa as Treasurer, Nr. Anthony Zakari as Financial Secretary. Others are, Silas Bwacha as PRO, Clement Ayuba as Auditor 1, Abel Williams as Auditor 2.

In his inaugural speech, the newly elected Chairman, Nr. Pious Nathaniel, thanked members for having confidence on them and sued for more support to move the association forward.

He promise to operate an open door policy where every constructive criticism will be welcome. He also promise to work with other state administrative council members, state executive members, veterans and all Nurses at all levels to retrieve all that belongs to them.

“I assure you that if all hands will be on deck and you give me your maximum cooperation, the lost glory of this noble profession will be restored and every nurse in this state from the highest to lowest will be treated with honour and dignity.

“I am fully aware of some of our rights that have been denied ranging from new minimum wage, lack of implementation uniform allowance, improper placement, lack of implementation of promotions and host of others by the grace of God, I will fight with the last drop of my blood to make sure that our rights are giving to us.

He call on other contestants that lost the election to imbibe the spirit of comradeship to join us to move the association forward.

“Remember, the association is bigger than an individual and weather as leader or not we professional colleagues because the professions bind us together – he said.

Earlier, the outgone Chairperson, Nr. Veronica Romanus , thanked delegates for turningout for the election and support giving to her led Exco in the past four years in office and urge them to extend same to the incoming Exco.

She expressed her appreciation to Taraba state Governor, Dr Kefas Agbu for provide level play ground for his support to the delegates conference.
