Theme: “Give to Gain”
The International President of the Standup for Women Society, (SWS) Deborah Ijadele -Adetona, Esq, joined other global organisations to mark the 2026 edition of the International Women Day with theme : “Give to Gain”. Today, as the world celebrates International Women’s Day, I extend warm greetings and heartfelt encouragement to women across the globe.
This special day reminds us of the extraordinary strength, resilience, and determination that women continue to demonstrate in every sphere of life. Women are the pillars of families, the builders of communities, and the driving force behind meaningful social transformation.
This year’s theme, “Give to Gain,” carries a powerful message for all of us. It reminds us that when we give our support, our knowledge, our compassion, and our opportunities to one another, we all gain as individuals, communities, and as a global society. Empowering women is not only an act of justice; it is an investment in a stronger and more sustainable future.
As women, we must continue to lift one another, support one another, and create pathways for the next generation of girls to succeed. Let us stand together with courage and determination to break barriers, promote equality, and ensure that every woman has the opportunity to thrive.
It is also important that women take their rightful place in governance and decision-making processes. When women are actively involved in leadership, policymaking, and public administration, they bring valuable perspectives that contribute to balanced decisions, inclusive policies, and sustainable development. The growth and stability of governments and societies are stronger when women participate fully in shaping policies and guiding national development.
At Standup for Women Society (SWS), we remain fully committed to advancing women’s empowerment, leadership, and inclusive development across communities and nations. We believe that when women are empowered, societies become stronger, more peaceful, and more prosperous.
To every woman around the world today, I say:
