The Deputy Director incharge of Industrial Relations And Staff Welfare Department, Mr David Adokuru has identified working in Central Administration as his most memorable posting as a Public Servant.

Mr David Adokuru made this statement during a valedictory Session in his office to celebrate 35 years of meritorious Service with the Federal Capital Territory Administration.

The Deputy Director who took Abuja Digest crew through his 35 years in Service said where he was employed in 1990; one is not regarded as a bona-fide Staff until you have gone through the process of regularization and confirmations after Taking the oath of Secrecy.

Mr Adokuru said he started his career in Human Resource Management, which use to be known as Central Administration, and Department of Establishment. and is happy to be ending his career in the same place.
In his Civil Service journey, he has served in several places and in different capacity, but said that he spent 14 years in Training Division.
According to him; ” Training Unit is like being in School, and Training yourself. All you do is to study, research and put up memos”.

He added that an Administrative Officer is like a Police Man and Judge, because you are the custodian of Rules and Regulations.
This he said really shaped his life and working Career because he learnt a lot during the period.
He said is being a Public Servant is in line with God’s will because as someone who is from a Military home, all he ever wanted was to join the Military.
He returned all the glory for a successful Career and advised up coming Civil Servants to be hardworking and ready to learn.
He said that even though there’s no money in the Service, there are other incentives that comes with being disciplined, hardworking and dedicated to the service.
Speaking at the occasion, Mrs Ebele Molokwu, Director, Administration, Legal Secretariat said Mr David Adokuru is a calm, disciplined and very resourceful Staff.
She added that it was not a surprise that he was leaving Service with an impeccable track record.
The Assistant Director, Industrial Relations And Staff Welfare Department, Mr Nwabueze Ikechukwu said the outgoing Deputy Director is a brother, friend, Father and mentor to him and others in the Department.
Accordingly to him; ” Mr David is an exceptional Human being, very unassuming and highly principled.
He said he hope to build on the legacies that he has left and not deviate from lessons lessons learnt over the years.
Many Staff, including those from Department of Mass Education were on hand to celebrate with and pour accolades on a Man who has traversed and conquered the Public Service.
Highlight of the occasion was the handing over ceremony where Mr David Adokuru handed over the paraphernalia of Office to Mr Nwabueze Ikechukwu.
