The National Chairperson of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) Hajia Aishatu Ibrahim, has formally presented the Association’s Certificate of Occupancy (C of O) to the President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), reaffirming NAWOJ’s strong ties with its parent body.

The presentation, which was marked by deep emotion and a sense of accomplishment, symbolizes a significant milestone in the history of the Association. It reflects years of dedication, resilience, and collective effort by women journalists across the country toward securing a permanent asset for the organization.
In her remarks, the NAWOJ National Chairperson described the moment as a testament to unity, progress, and the enduring relationship between NAWOJ and the NUJ. She emphasized that the achievement would further strengthen institutional capacity and provide a solid foundation for advancing the welfare and professional development of women journalists.

Responding, the NUJ President, Comrade Alhassan Yahya, commended NAWOJ for the milestone and reiterated the Union’s commitment to supporting its affiliate bodies in achieving their goals.
The presentation underscores a renewed commitment to collaboration, growth, and the promotion of excellence within the journalism profession.

He tasked NAWOJ to do more in the area of Training and retraining of her members across the country.
