NAWOJ FCT Hails Grace Ike on Birthday

The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), FCT Chapter, has celebrated the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Council, Comrade Grace Ike, describing her as an exceptional leader, trailblazer, and a source of inspiration in Nigeria’s media landscape.


In a congratulatory message marking her birthday, the association noted that Grace Ike’s emergence as the first female Chairman of the NUJ FCT Council in over four decades is not only historic but transformative.

NAWOJ FCT stated that her leadership has broken longstanding barriers and created opportunities for more women to aspire to leadership positions within the journalism profession.


The association further described her as the epitome of purposeful and inclusive leadership, highlighting her ability to carry everyone along, listen with empathy, and lead with strength and integrity.

According to the statement, her tenure has been marked by excellence, professionalism, and a strong commitment to the welfare of journalists and the growth of the profession.


NAWOJ FCT also praised her for upholding high professional standards, noting that she remains a shining example of visionary leadership and a positive force within the media industry.


Expressing pride in her accomplishments, the association said her achievements represent a collective victory for women, journalism, and the future of inclusive leadership in the sector.
