The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Dr. Jophia Nanker Gupar, describing her death as a painful loss while celebrating a life dedicated to kindness, compassion and service to humanity.
In a condolence message issued following her peaceful passing in the early hours of Thursday, July 30, 2026, the association joined her family, friends and associates in mourning her transition, while extending heartfelt sympathies to all those affected by the loss.
NAWOJ noted that although Dr. Gupar’s demise has created a vacuum that will be difficult to fill, her remarkable life and enduring legacy would continue to inspire generations. The association said the memories she created through her warmth, grace and unwavering commitment to impacting lives would remain a source of comfort to those who knew her.
The association described the late Dr. Gupar as a woman whose compassion, generosity and positive influence touched many lives, adding that her contributions would not be forgotten.
While praying for the peaceful repose of her soul, NAWOJ urged her family, colleagues and loved ones to find strength in God during the period of grief. The association prayed that Almighty God would grant them the courage and faith to bear the irreparable loss, while granting the deceased eternal rest in His heavenly kingdom.
According to NAWOJ, although Dr. Jophia Nanker Gupar has departed from this earthly life, her legacy of love, selfless service and humanity will continue to live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
