The National Secretary of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Comrade Wasilah Ibrahim Ladan, has expressed profound appreciation to members of the media community, friends and well-wishers for the overwhelming support, prayers and solidarity shown to her family following the death of her beloved mother.

In a heartfelt appreciation message issued on Thursday, the Controller of News at Radio Nigeria thanked the NAWOJ National Chairperson, Comrade Aisha Ibrahim, for travelling from Abuja with members of her entourage to Kano to personally condole with the family.
She also acknowledged the former two-term NAWOJ National Chairperson and Head of Operations, News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Lagos, Mrs. Hadiza Ifeyinwa Omowole, who flew from Lagos to Kano to pay her respects. Ladan further appreciated Hannatu Mohammed, former Chairperson of the NAWOJ Katsina State Chapter, alongside Dahara Ahmed, Halima Musa, Sarah Ogodo, Sahura, Nafisa Dutse, Halima, Sadiya and other members who represented NAWOJ Zone A during the condolence visit.
She also commended Princess Joy Idam of Weekenders Magazine for giving wide publicity to the condolence activities.
The NAWOJ National Secretary equally extended her gratitude to the National President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Comrade Alhassan Yahaya, the Deputy National President, Dr. Abimbola Oyetunde, former NUJ President, Chief Chris Isiguzo, Alhaji Abdul Umar Faruq, other former NUJ Presidents, the Chairman and Executive Committee of the NUJ Kano State Council, as well as Council Chairmen across the country for their support and words of comfort.
Ladan noted that the visits, condolence messages, phone calls and prayers received from colleagues, friends and associates brought immense comfort to the family during the difficult period, describing the gestures as a true reflection of unity, compassion and professional camaraderie.
She prayed that Almighty Allah would richly reward everyone who stood by the family, forgive the shortcomings of her late mother, illuminate and expand her grave, grant her Aljannatul Firdaus, and bless all those who offered support with abundant mercy and protection.
