NFSS Seeks Stronger Synergy with Army to Boost Security in Ebonyi

The (NFSS), Ebonyi State Command, has called for enhanced collaboration with the through intelligence sharing and joint operations to strengthen security across the state.

The State Commander of NFSS, Larry Igwe , made the call during a courtesy visit to the Cantonment Commander of on Friday.

Speaking during the visit, Igwe congratulated the newly appointed Cantonment Commander on his assumption of office, describing it as a strategic development that would reinforce the state’s security architecture.

He noted that the visit underscored a renewed push for inter-agency cooperation to address both security threats and environmental challenges confronting Ebonyi.

The NFSS boss emphasized the agency’s commitment to supporting the Nigerian Army in protecting lives, property, and natural resources especially in forest reserves and rural communities where security vulnerabilities are often pronounced.

According to him, the rising threats of violent crimes and environmental degradation require a unified, intelligence-driven response anchored on collaboration.

“The challenges we face today demand synergy, collaboration, and intelligence-led operations. We are fully prepared to share information, coordinate patrols, and support joint missions that will strengthen security in both urban and rural areas,” he said.

Igwe further assured that NFSS personnel are ready to commence patrols across cities, rural settlements, forest zones, and other ungoverned spaces to help curb criminal activities.

To deepen cooperation, he appealed to the cantonment leadership to integrate the NFSS into routine joint patrol operations and also requested periodic tactical training and lectures from Army officers to build the operational capacity of NFSS personnel.

He expressed confidence in the leadership of the cantonment commander, noting that his tenure would promote professionalism, fairness, and effective security management in the state.

Igwe added that a robust partnership between the NFSS and the Nigerian Army would not only reduce crime but also promote environmental sustainability and economic stability for local communities.

He reaffirmed the service’s commitment to a productive working relationship with the Army, stressing that collaboration remains key to building a safer Ebonyi State.
