Amasiri is Bleeding : Save Amasiri

Dear Nigerians and Global Community,

This is not a story. This is not a RUMOR. This is not POLITICS.

THIS IS GENOCIDE .

Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru is not governing. He is erasing. He is not protecting. He is destroying. And he is doing it with the full force of the military, the silence of the legislature, and the complicity of those who should be our protectors.

Our children cannot go to school. Our sick cannot get medicine. Our markets are shut. Our businesses are closed. Our youth are hunted over 400 arrested, chased from their homes, tracked to places they thought were safe. And now? Now, while we are displaced, while we are running, while we are grieving he is building houses for the Edda people on OUR land.

Yes. Our land.

The land our ancestors walked. The land our children were born on. The land we built schools on. The land we installed a 2.5 million liter water tank for Akanto Primary School now dismantled, removed, and taken by Edda people under military supervision.

They are not just stealing our land. They are stealing our crops cassava, plantains, bananas, coconuts, cocoyam harvested from Ozara-Okangwu, Akanto, Iyi-ogologo, Idume, and more. All under the watch of the governor’s soldiers.

They are burning our sacred places. Stealing our artifacts. Breaking into our archives to erase our history. To erase our proof. To erase us.

And when we cried out? When a petition was presented to the Ebonyi State House of Assembly on February 20, 2026 calling this what it is: GENOCIDE they laughed. They dismissed it. They called it “not genocide.” Because they are not legislators. They are puppets. They are robbers stamps. They are the governor’s incentives receivers.

We have no voice in government. No representative. No advocate. So we pray this simple, powerful prayer:

Let what is happening to Amasiri happen to their own communities.

Let them feel the fear. Let them feel the hunger. Let them feel the loss. Let them feel the erasure.

Because only then will they understand.

We are not asking for sympathy. We are demanding justice.

We call on the Nigerian media: Come. Investigate. See the houses being built on our land. See the tanks being removed. See the farms being harvested. See the children without schools. See the elders without medicine. See the youth in chains.

We call on human rights organizations: Come. Document. Expose. Hold them accountable.

This is not a local issue. This is a national shame. This is an international crime.

The world is watching. The world must act.

Amasiri is not silent. Amasiri is not broken. Amasiri is rising.

And we will not be erased.

Stand with us. Speak for us. Fight for us.

Before it’s too late.
