Niger Govt Calls on FG to Revamp Roads

Niger state Government as a matter of emergency and urgency called on the Federal Government to revamp all its federal roads within the state
to reduce road accidents and improve economic stability.

The Governor of Niger state Mohammed Umaru Bago made this known when he received on a courtesy call the delegation led by FCT Command Federal Road safety corps Co-Marshal Sheuhu Mohammed at Government house Minna on Wednesday 11th September, 2024.

The Governor represented by his Deputy Comrade Yakubu Garba expressed worries over the incident that took over 60 lives leaving eight injured, he emphasized that the dilapidated roads are some of the major causes while government awaits agencies in charge of roads report to know the cause and measures to avert the reoccurrence of such tragic incident.

Umaru Bago in his address commended Niger state emergency management Agency (NSEMA) for their proactiveness towards the recent accident along agiea, bida, katcha road ,while also apprecaiting federal Road safety corps as the first to pay condolence visit to the state.

Earlier, the leader of the delegation FCT Command Federal Road Safety Corps Corps- Marshal shehu Mohammed said their aim is to commiserate with the State Government and Nigerlites as well over this ugly incident.

Corps- Marshal shehu Mohammed said measures are put to establish various outpost for for emergency stating on their continuous partnership with the state government in order to carry out their mandate and Constitution.

Speaking, the Director General, Niger state Emergency Management Agency, Abdullahi Baba Ara reassured Nigerlites the Agency will continue to stragegies ways towards protecting their and properties at all cost.
