The Deputy Governor of Niger State Comrade Yakubu Garba has advised the Medical and Health Workers Council of the State on the need to be Pro- government rather than anti-government.
He stated this during the State Council 11th Quadrennial State Delegate Conference (SDC) of the Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria held at Doko Hotel in Minna on Wednesday September 11th 2024.

Comrade Yakubu Garba said the conference is a call to action, to re-evaluate the Council strategies, and to chart a new path that ensures the continued growth and relevance of the Union, not only in advocating for the rights and welfare of its members but also in strengthening the healthcare sector in the state and the nation at large.
Earlier the National President medical and health workers union of Nigeria Doctor karibu Ado Sani called on the new executive of the state council to uphold the union standards of going extra miles on promoting accountability, financial discipline, quality service to members, investment as well as distinguish themselves in service delivery.
“We must realize that building trade union power has become the global focal point and electing competent leaders will help in actualazing the mission and vision of our dear union”
The National President assured that the Central Working Committee under his leadership will continue to represent their interest at all times.
Speaking, the outgoing State Chairman of the Medical and Health workers Comrade Abdullahi Erena said that this gathering is a mandatory activity that must be performed every four years. Adding that the strength of our union rests in our unity.
Also the New Chairman Medical and Health Workers Council Niger State Comrade Usman Abubakar Dabban, appreciated members of the union and assured them of effective and efficient service delivery as well as putting their interest above his personal interest.
