Niger State Polythecnic Zungeru, Commends State Govt : Plan to Establish Study Centres at Suleja, Kagara and Kontagora…Rector

The Rector Niger State Polythecnic Zungeru, Dr Ibrahim Umar Kontagora, has commended the State Government for their mega support in making the Polythecnic Maintain its Standard. Reason why the institution has commenced Plans to set up Study Centres at Suleja, Kagara and Kontagora. “Arrangements are in top gear” he stated.

The Rector dropped this hint when he interacted with journalists in his Office. He was ably represented by his Deputy Dr Enoch Gana, who revealed that the school has recorded numerous achievements, attributing it to the support received from the State Government under the leadership of Governor Abubakar Sani Bello.

He added that Human Capital Development has been given a boost under his leadership which has motivated a lot of staff in the institution. The Rector also maintained that discipline has remained the watch word of the Polythecnic. Adding that discipline has cut across the Students as well as Academic and Non- Academic Staff.

The Rector hinted that Political Science, Land & Survey, Building, Quantity Survey, Business Administration Blocks structures were built during the course of the last administration. They started some and that they were unable to complete before the last administration wind up. But as of today all of them have been completed.

“The School Auditorium is functional, and some Laboratories have been completed fully operational. Recently the NBTE Team visited The Polythecnic Zungeru for accreditation of 13 programs. And to the Glory of God we got the accreditation for the 13 programs”.
Dr Kontagora, enumerated some of the challenges faced by the Institution to include insecurity and Man Power. He called on the State Government to bridge this existing gaps.
Adding that the School has zero tolerance for corruption. While calling on parents to discourage their wards from Examination Malpractice.
“Explaining that there are stages of orientation. Department Orientation. School Orientation and College Orientation. We have our Guardian & Counselling Officers at each level they warn the Students. Thus Malpractice has reduced drastically” he concluded.
