As part of activities to mark Nigeria at 64, the Kano State Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf has announced adoption of 95 orphans in Kano, thereby unveiling the humanitarian side of him.
The Governor’s exceptional kindness and magnanimity was demonstrated during a special lunch with the 95 children presently under the care of the state Orphanage home since the lost of their biological parents.
The luncheon was part of activities to mark the 2024 Independence Day anniversary in Kano.
A statement by the Governor’s Spokesperson Mr. Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, stated that Governor Yusuf takes full responsibility of the 95 Orphans moving forward.
According to him, “I want to announce that we have assumed full responsibility of all the 95 orphans domiciled in this facility, we will take care of thier education from primary to tertiary, healthcare services, feeding and other social needs throughout my tenure”.
The Governor assured that until the end of his tenure, the orphans would be treated as very important personalities with full benefit, care and privileges. He added that the state government will accord the children opportunity to reach their full potentials in life.
The orphanage home, established 54 years ago, for the first time, witnessed the kind gesture Governor Yusuf offered while spending quality time with the vulnerable children.
“You are now my children, I will take care of you as my own, you will begin to feel the good side of life in sha Allah” the Governor declared.
The statement added that the Governor had donated food items worth millions of naira for the welfare, safety and food security for the orphans.
