NILOWV Commiserates with Plateau State Govt, School Authority, and bereaved families,

The National League of Women Voters of Nigeria (NILOWV) has expressed deepest condolences and profound shock over the tragic loss of precious lives in the recent school building collapse in Jos. “Our hearts go out to the families who have lost their children in this devastating incident”.

We mourn the loss of these young lives, whose potential and dreams were brutally cut short. We share the pain and grief of the families, and we stand in solidarity with them during this difficult time. We urge the government and school authorities to take immediate action to investigate this incidence, ensure accountability, and prevent such tragedies in the future.

As an organization dedicated to promoting the well-being and empowerment of women and children, we are deeply troubled by this incident. We believe that every child deserves a safe and supportive environment to learn and grow. We call on the government and school authorities to prioritize the safety and welfare of students and ensure that schools provide a conducive environment for learning.

We offer our support and assistance to the affected families and the school community. We urge the government to provide necessary support and resources to the families and the school to help them recover from this tragedy. We also call on the government to take measures to prevent such incidents in the future by ensuring that schools are built and maintained to the highest safety standards.

Once again, we offer our deepest condolences to the families who have lost their children. May their souls rest in peace, and may their memories continue to inspire us to work towards a safer and more compassionate society for all.

Signed
Hon Irene Awunah-Ikyegh
