A non governmental body the south South National Dialogue coalition forum worldwide (SSNDCF) have written an open letter to President Bola Tinubu over the political crisis rocking Rivers State as a result of the supreme court judgment.
According to the leader of the body Chief Hon.Uranta Kendabie,we passionately appealing to President Bola Tinubu to use his good office to intervene over the matter.
He said that Rivers state is the economy lifeline of Nigeria as such it should not be left in hand’s of political jobbers whose interests in formating the crisis is for their personal gain, chief Kendabie further said that President Tinubu should not hesitate to call on the warring factions in Rivers state to MENTION, Hon. Martin Amahule lead assembly Members and Governor Fubara faction’s to sheath there swords against governor Fubara, “As two wrongs cannot make a right”.
“that anger against a brother does not touch the bone but it stop at the flesh”.
He stated that Rivers state is too important economically and socially to Nigeria as such,”No sane government will folds it’s hands, while peace and tranquility erodes it’s financial economic generating state”.
Chief Kendabie,said that ijaw Ethnic nationality have the national interest which is sacrosanct without fear or favour.
He urge on president Tinubu to quickly intervene over the unfortunate crisis bedeviling the rich Oil and Gas Rivers State, saying, “that a stitch in time,saves nine” .
The earlier the president call for truce ,the better.As Nigeria cannot afford to risk the consequence of the fallout of the renewed crisis in Rivers state.
According to Chief Kendabie,we are coalition body that believe in dialogue, peaceful conflict resolution.
We urge you our dynamic president Tinubu to employ the wisdom of our past heroes and heroines of Nigeria to bring peace to Rivers state.
The past heroes who fought for survival of Nigeria as an independent state are; Late papa Awolowo,Late Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe, Late Allahaji.Tafawa Belewa of blessed memories.
