PLATEAU UNITED OUTGONE GENERAL MANAGER APPRECIATES FANS FOR SUPPORT.

The outgone General Manager of Plateau United Football Club of Jos , Pius Henwan has appreciated God almighty for the gift of life and the immediate past governor of the state, Rt.Hon Barrister Simon Bako Lalong for the opportunity to serve in that exalted position as the Club helmsman.

Henwan who stated this in a statement in Jos,equally thanked the club teeming fans , both at home and in the diaspora for the massive support noting that without their backing , the club would not have achieved the successes recorded during his tenure.

He also used the medium to specifically appreciate the immense support given to him by the office staff, technical crew and all the players that served the club under his stewardship describing their support and cooperation as vital towards the team successes.

The experienced sports administrator who is also the longest serving secretary of the club, before assuming the role of General Manager, last eight years, noted that the support and cooperation he got from the fans and people of Plateau state was what galvanized the team to win the Nigeria Professional Football League title for the first time in the club history in 2017.

” I would not have won the league in 2017 and 2020 without your support and Cooperation. You people were the driving force that propelled the team to record these successes” He said.

While lamenting the club inability to make it to the ongoing super six in Lagos, Henwan stated that he is proud of the club achievement stressing that he has done his best to establish Plateau United as one of the best teams in the top flight after representing Nigeria three times in the continent in the last five years.

The outgone General Manager urged the club teeming fans to give his successor the same support and cooperation to enable him succeed.

Henwan who held sway as the General Manager of Plateau United between 2015-2023, led the team to its first top flight league title in 2017 and 2020 as well as a second place finished in 2022 in the NPFL, as the team represented Nigeria in the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederations Cup.

He has since handed over to the club’s Director of Finance and Supplies, Emmanuel Sani following the dissolution of Boards and Parastatals by Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang.
