Retired Principals Celebrate a Legacy of Education.

In a heartfelt tribute to years of dedication and service, the Association of Retired Principals of Secondary Schools in Nigeria, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Chapter gathered in an annual event to commemorate their tireless contributions to the education sector.

The event which well attended was adorned with reminiscences and camaraderie as retired principals from various secondary schools across the FCT .

Speaking at the Extra Ordinary Educators gathering who have left an indelible mark on Countless lives, the two term First Lady of Kano State and wife of the National Chairman of the ruling Party, Professor Hafsat Umar Ganduje said with a sense of nostalgia that the gathering is imperative in order to reunite, share experiences and wisdom as retired Principals whose combined impact on generations of Students is unforgettable.

She emphasized on the pivotal role of Principals in shaping young minds and the evolving nature of Education in the Country.

The one time Principal of Government Secondary School,wise,zone 3 and Government Girls Secondary School,Dutse highlighted the significance of their collective efforts and commitment over the years to shape in nurturing future and generations has been the cornerstone of the Educational Landscape in FCT.

She described the Retired Principals as architects of inspiration, cultivators of knowledge and stewards of character who created atmosphere filled with genuine service for the Education’s transformative Power.

She noted her times as a Principal in FCT having rose through the rank of classroom teacher to various positions as memorable.

She recognized the various role played by those before her as Administrators such include Hajia Asmau Usman,the first Chairman of FCT Secondary Education Board whom she described as a nurturing force and beacon of knowledge, guiding colleagues and students to the path of success.

She urged the Association to continue in this path of legacy builders, championing the noble cause of Education in FCT and the Nation as a whole assuring them of identifying and support towards programmes that will bring positive Impact to the Education System.

In his remark, the Secretary for Education, Dr. Danlami Hayyo said the various positive roles of the retired principals noting that their contributions to the development of human capacity is what brought the status of Federal Capital Territory.

He added that, highly placed individual has been nurtured by them describing the year’s event as Special as it played host to one of their own and two term First Lady of Kano State. Professor Hafsat Umar Ganduje whose input and support towards the Education Sector is invaluable.

Hayyo who was represented by the Director of FCT Secondary Education Board,Dr Sani Ladan commended the Association for the various involvement in the FCT Education System as they symbolizes the enduring commitment to Excellence in Education that unites everyone assuring them that the vibrant academic environment created will be sustained as cherished legacies .

In their various goodwill messages by Hajia Asmau Usman, Mrs Irene Elegbede, Dr Adamu Noma mni, HRH Agabe Hussaini Mann, Hajia Fatima Abdulrahaman and the current Director of Education Resource Centre, Dr Neemat Daud
Abdulrahim acknowledged the efforts of the Association to reunite people from different places and their exemplary leadership during their tenures while their voices of applause echoed through the hall as these exceptional educators were lauded for their unwavering commitment and dedication as the event witnessed vibrant conversations and shared anecdotes, fostering an environment of warmth and solidarity among the retired principals.

Earlier in her welcome address,the outgoing Pioneer Chairman of the Association of Retired Principals of Secondary Schools of Nigeria ( ASORPSSSON), Hon. (Mrs) Chidawa Rifkatu Adamu said the Association through the few years of existence has been in the forefront of ensuring that members are not left behind in their collective efforts and interests in Education Matters.

She said,the gathering is a testament to the enduring spirit of service and dedication that each retired Principal has exemplified throughout their careers.

Chidawa noted that as the year draws to a close, this Association deemed it fit to express their appreciation for the invaluable legacies these retired principals have left behind noting that their commitment to excellence and their pivotal roles in shaping the future of education in Nigeria continue to inspire generations to come.

The highlight of the colourful event was the donations of Books to FCT Schools and Students and Swearing- in of the newly elected Officers as follows, Mr.Chidozie lfejiofo as Chairman, Mallam Madugu Aliyu Adamu as Vice Chairman, Mrs Helen Umoru as Secretary,Mallam Ja’afaru.l.Usman as Assistant Secretary, Mrs lbrahim Hajara Adamu as Treasurer,Hajia Aisha Bello as Financial Secretary Others are Mr. Vangarba K Ayuba as PRO 1, Mrs Umeano Patience A as PRO 2, Mrs Ezeh Ngozi B as Welfare, Barrister Babatunde Salami as Auditor,Mrs Ajuwa Theresa Provost 1 Alh Gbongbo Abubakar 2 and Barr Obia Edmund as Legal Officer with two Ex officios in the person of Hon.Mrs Chidawa Rifkatu Adamu and Mr Ajayi Richard l.
