After seeing off their Mexican opponents at the round of 16 at the ongoing fifa under 17 women’s world currently holding in Morocco, the Director General and chief Executive officer of the national institute for sports, Comrade Philip Shaibu has congratulated the flamingo for advancing into the quarterfinals at the expense of Mexico.

In his message to the team Shaibu reminded them that all the victories so far recorded at the tournament was not the mission but a route to achieving the mission intended which is being declared world champions.
Himself a former professional footballer said the attitude of the girls so for in the tournament demonstrates a team which has progressed through per game plan which was demonstrated in their third group match against Korea republic where the defending champions were reduced to chasing the ball in a three goals to one demolition
The same attitude was put in place as the North Americans also fell like a pack of cards
According to the NIS DG, the team is programmed to play seven matches in the tournament and so far four of the seven matches have been well executed waiting for the fifth match
Shaibu further reminded the team to stay focused and always remember that the number one football fan in Nigeria President Bola Tinubu cares and has ensured their welfare is a top priority while millions of Nigerians are also looking and praying for their success, while they remain firm and avoid anything that will distract their attention from achieving their mission.
The flamingos defeated their Mexican counterparts by two goals to one in the round of sixteen to move into the quarter finals.
