Taraba State Governor Dr. Agbu Kefas has reiterated his administration’s commitment to continue impacting positivity on the state workforce. The Governor, represented by his Deputy, Alhaji Aminu Alkali stated this while declaring a two day induction training for Commissioners and Permanent Secretaries held in Jalingo. He charged participants to justify the purpose of the government on the training.

Earlier in his speech the State Head of Civil Service (HOS) Mr. Paul Maigida Tino charged participants at the opening of a two day induction program not to mistake the knowledge acquired during the period for jamboree.
The Training organized by the State Government through the office of head of the civil service with the theme:
“Leadership imperative for effective service delivery” was strictly for Commissioners and Permanent secretaries in the state respectively.
He emphasized the urgent need for the maiden induction programme for public office holders and top government civil cadres in the state and made it categorically clear that the intention was to sensitize and create awareness among key player in the service on the need to effectively handle administrative and technical issues proactively in order to support the administration of Governor Agbu Kefas in moving the state forward.
Maigida Tino observed that the goal was to equip participants with the necessary skills and techniques as well as create synergy to proactively attain service matters.
“I therefore, wish to reiterated at this juncture, the focus of the current administration is to reposition and straighten the service by creating an enabling environment for the public servants and political actors through training and retraining, construction and rehabilitation of officers in all MDAs in the state for effective service delivery with global best practices.
“I have no doubt in my mind that these calibers of facilitators will do justice to various topics for the induction”, he said.
Speaking to newsmen shortly after various papers presentation by facilitators, permanent secretary, political affairs, office of the secretary to the Government 0f Taraba State (SSG) Mrs. Jemimah G. Nwunuji appreciated Governor Kefas passion to change the old narrative of civil servants to meet up with current global practices during period under review.
The permanent secretary noted that moral conduct and ethical behaviours among top civil servants in the past had declined drastically and called for collaborative effort to move the present administration forward.
Jemimah Nwunuji observed that the induction was a wakeup call by all participants and coming at no other better time than now, more importantly, when there is urgent need to join hands together with governor Kefas to ensure effective and speedy service delivery at all cost.
