A Special Taskforce Committee on the Suspension of Mining and Deforestation Activities in Taraba State has announced plans to dismantle multiple illegal revenue checkpoints across the state. This decision became necessary when the Chairman, General Jeremiah Aliyu Faransa, (Rtd), stormed on some of the illegal checkpoints spread along the highways of Lau and Yorro local government councils of the state.
Emphasizing the need to streamline revenue collection efforts, he explained that
“Illegal checkpoints would be consolidated to ensure proper oversight and accountability. Designated collection points would simplify the revenue process.
He warned illegal operators to desist from their activities or face serious consequences.
“Those involved in these unauthorized revenue collections will regret their actions if they do not stop immediately.
According to him, the state government is working on strategies to regulate the growing number of revenue vendors, ensuring that their services are transparent and contribute positively to the state’s development.
“Unauthorized federal taskforce committees operating in the state are also directed to cease their activities with immediate effects.
He express satisfaction with the recent rise in state revenue and vowed to intensify efforts in areas such as road taxes and other sources of income for the state’s benefit.
The Chairman reaffirm that the state would take charge of its revenue collection through legal means.
He applauded Governor Agbu Kefas for fostering an environment conducive to these reforms, which according to him, are essential for Taraba’s progress.

The Crown of Life Bible Church house of David, has call on President Ahmed BolaTinubu to take drastic action aimed at alleviating the suffering and hardship that Nigerians are passing through.
This is contained in a communique at the end of the 33rd Anniversary celebration and Annual Kingdom Power Convention of the Church held between 17th – 20th, October, 2024 at the Church Auditorium, Jalingo.
The communique signed by the Bishop of the Church, Rt. Rev. (Dr.) Innocent Rubiruku Solomon, reads in parts,
“We acknowledge that we who are redeemed by the blood of the Lamb are made kingdom citizens from out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation. Rev 5:9; John 1:12-13.
“We equally acknowledge that Christ hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth. Rev 5:10.
“We further acknowledge that to Subdue the earth and have Dominion over all the earth is our God given creation mandate. Gen 1:26-28.
“Therefore we affirm that:
The fish of the sea, the fowls of the air and every living thing that moveth upon the earth shall be our dominion and shall serve us. Henceforth darkness nor the kingdoms of darkness shall no more have Dominion over us. Col 1:12-14. Henceforth as it is written, the gates of hell shall not prevail against us. Matt 16:18. The heathen are our inheritance and the uttermost ends of the earth our possession. Ps 2:6-8. We have received abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness so that we might reign in life by Christ Jesus as kingdom citizens. Ro 5:17. Henceforth we see ourselves as agents of positive change and transformational development in all spheres of our influence. Matt 5:13-16. We shall in line with our mandate according to Scriptures take charge as a gods on earth because as He is so are in this world. Ps 82:6; 1John 2:14.
On the state of the nation, the Church acknowledged the dare economic hardship and perilous times facing the country.
“We call on Mr President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to take drastic measures aimed at alleviating the sufferings and hardship of Nigerians.
“Members of the Church are encouraged to uphold the nation in fervent prayers as enjoined by the Scriptures and not to give up in the face of adverse, daunting current economic hardship and challenges in the country. 1Tim 2:1-3; Luke 18:1.
On the state of Taraba State, the Church expressed support and solidarity to the Visionary leadership of Governor Agbu Kefas and resolved to continue in prayers for the Governor and his administration in order for him to achieve fully his development agenda of MOVING TARABA FORWARD.
“The Church admonished H. E to strengthen efforts to realize his laudable dream of opening the AGBU KEFAS PALLIATIVE MARKET in Jalingo which will be a critical backbone to cushioning the impact of the harsh and unbearable economic hardship that Nigerians and Tarabans are passing through.
“The Church resolved to pursue all efforts to ensure that the Abuja Phase 2 road and other dare infrastructural needs of the community are addressed as a direct fall out, impact and outcome of the 33rd Anniversary of the Church with the theme, SUBDUING THE KINGDOMS OF DARKNESS AT ONCE – it stated.
The Theme of the Anniversary celebration is: SUBDUING THE KINGDOM OF DARKNESS AT ONCE (Numbers 13:30, Hebrew 11:32-35).
Highlights of the occasion include among other things the presentation of the KINGDOM IMPACT AWARD to H. E Dr Agbu Kefas for his visionary leadership and development focused administration and to the SGS Taraba State, Chief Barr G.T. Kataps for his critical role in Moving Taraba forward Agenda, charisma in governance, dedication and commitment to building body of Christ.
