TC Chairman Njikoka LGA Condemns Assault of an Older Person

TC Chairman, Njikoka LGA Expresses outrage over the assault and molestation of an elderly woman by her daughter Mrs Nkiruka Udugbo

In a release made available to the press the TC Chairman, Hon Clem Aguiyi describe the conduct of Mrs Udugbo as vicious and unacceptable conduct capable of occassioning grevious harm to the elderly woman .
He said having a child at old age ought to be a benefit to the elderly but in this case it is a curse .
The statement issued by the TC Chairman read as follows: The attention of the Council has been drawn to a viral video on the internet where a lady identified as Mrs Nkiruka Udugbo of Umudunu Village , Abagana was beating , kicking and molesting her elderly mother for some undisclosed reasons .
The incident was even more heart broken realizing the attacker is her own biological daughter .
Old people are weak and vulnetable and should be protected and nursed and not subjected to humiliation, evil , wickedness, verbal and physical abuse.
We condemn the actions of the attacker and will take appropriate action .
The council has ordered for the immidiate arrest of Mrs Nkiruka Udugbo by the police, she will be subjected to psychological evaluation and then brought to justice to serve as a deterrent to others .

The actions of Mrs Udugbo will not go unpunished the TC Chairman said while also issuing stern warnings to all those that may be in the habit of assaulting vulnerable children and elderly people in Njikoka to desist as their time is up because the law will not spare them.

Hon Aguiyi also indicated the ciuncil is in regular touch with the police and the state and are making arrangements to locate any old peoples home that will admit the old woman that was assaulted or in the alternative provide her with a carer/ minder and other neccessary supports to make her life better at the expense of the council.
He commended the Abagana Police Division for their swift action on the matter.
