In a landmark ceremony symbolizing Nigeria’s commitment to infrastructural excellence and national development, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has officially commissioned the newly completed Arterial Road N5 in linking lifecamo junction in Abuja.
President Tinubu, who was represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, described the road as a bold testament to what can be achieved when visionary leadership meets purposeful action.

“This road, named after a man of vision, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, now carries the legacy of forward-thinking leadership into the future of our capital city,” the President stated.
The Arterial Road N5, which stretches from Life Camp Junction to Ring Road 3, was highlighted as a crucial link that will significantly ease traffic congestion in major districts such as Dape, Gwarimpa 1, Kado, Karsana, Idu, and Dambora.

It is also expected to improve both vehicular and pedestrian connectivity across the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
President Tinubu lauded the Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike, and his team for aligning with the Federal Government’s vision to transform Abuja into a world-class capital city.
“To Abuja residents and indeed all Nigerians, this is your road. Own it, use it wisely, protect it, and celebrate it,” Tinubu urged.
Describing the project as a symbol of collective progress and renewed hope, the President dedicated the road to the Nigerian people and emphasized the government’s unwavering commitment to delivering modern infrastructure that uplifts daily life.

On his part, the Minister of the FCT, Dr. Nyesom Wike, proudly noted that all owners of structures affected by the N5 road construction were duly compensated and resettled, irrespective of their ethnic background.
Wike added that the commissioning marks another milestone in the Tinubu administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritizes development that is inclusive, sustainable, and people-centered. “President Tinubu has done well for the FCT,” Wike noted.
