The Chairman, Youth Wing of Christian Association of Nigeria (YOWICAN) Taraba State Chapter, Evang. Ephesian Jesse (JP), Taraba state, has strongly denounced the appalling act of violence that occurred during a naming ceremony in Jalingo.
He stated this in a statement issued to Journalists in Jalingo.
According to him, the incident took place in the Gullum area of Jalingo, resulted in the loss of one life and various degrees of injuries.
“Traditionally, naming ceremonies are joyous occasions among the Kona people.
“However, this particular event took a dark turn.
Evang. Jesse Ephesian expressed his disappointment with the destructive behavior that unfolded and calling on youths to redirect their energy towards more positive endeavors.
“I urged you to refrain from engaging in disputes over women and instead focus on meaningful pursuits.
The Chairman emphasize on the importance of engaging in activities that promote personal growth and contribute to the betterment of the community.
“I vehemently condemn this tragic incident.
He further emphasize on the significance of fostering unity and harmony among young people, ultimately aiming to create a more peaceful society.
“We must stand together as a united front against violence and promote peace within our society.
“It is time for us to channel our energy into productive ventures that will uplift ourselves and our community.”
He remind the youth about the power they possess in shaping the future.
