Dr. (Amb.) Rebecca Bolanle Ukpevo is a highly accomplished Nigerian journalist, women’s rights advocate, and leader. She serves as the Vice Chairperson of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) FCT Chapter, after serving as the Special Assistant to the immediate past National President of NAWOJ.

She is currently the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Shefarmers Association, FCT, empowering female farmers to engage in productive farming and linking them for supports with the government and development partners.
Her dedication to promoting positive change, exceptional leadership, and commitment to excellence has earned her numerous accolades, including an Honorary Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Leadership and Management from the British American Open University of California, USA, and a prestigious Award of Honorary Fellow from the British American Institute of Governance, Leadership, and Business (BAIGRAB UK), Sheffield, England.
As a respected journalist and leader, Dr. Ukpevo has made significant impacts in her field. She has offered scholarships to over 100 children through her pet project, Estrellas Schools, located in the Wumba rural area of FCT, since 2013. Her efforts have been recognized with a Role Model Award for her selfless service to humanity, good leadership quality, research, and development.
Dr. Ukpevo is also involved in initiatives promoting women’s rights and empowerment. As a NAWOJ Executive, she is part of the Renewed Women’s Voice and Leadership Nigeria (RWVL) Project, a partnership with ActionAid Nigeria and Global Affairs Canada, aiming to strengthen Nigerian women’s rights organizations through funding, capacity building, and strategic support.
She is married to Amb. Samuel Ukpevo, and interestingly, they share the same birthday ’16th January’. Her family life is an important aspect of her life. She is blessed with lovely children who are currently discharging their duties to Nigeria.
Dr. Ukpevo’s contributions to journalism, education, and governance are notable. She has participated in various initiatives, including the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC)’s State Action on Business Enabling Reforms (SABER) Subnational Tour, on Technical and Town Hall Meetings in various States, discussing ease of doing business and regulatory environment improvements in Nigeria. At the 8th Nigeria Family Planning Conference 2024, she advised couples to have their desired number of children before adopting family planning measures to avoid side effects that may affect marriages.
