Women Affairs Minister Honours Sen Uche Ekwunife, Sen Aishatu Binani, NAWOJ President, Rotn Evelyn Onyilo, Others.

The Federal Ministry of Women Affairs in Collaboration with Development Research and Project Centre has honoured Sen Uche Ekwunife, Sen Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed Binani, the President of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Comrade Ladi Bala with an Award of Excellence as well as Former President NAWOJ Rotn Evelyn Onyilo.
The award was presented to notable women who over the years have championed issues relating to Gender Equality and Inclusive Governance. Among them were Senator Uche Ekwunife, Senator Aishatu Binani, Comrade Ladi Bala and former NAWOJ President Rotn Evelyn Onyilo.
The Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Dame Pauline Tallen, appreciated the Media Icons and other recipients for their contributions to the Growth and Development of the Nigerian Women and Children as well as Women and Children Living with Disabilities. The Minister further described Comrade Bala and Rotn Evelyn as visionary leaders with unflinching support for meaningful Women Development Programmes.
According to Women Affairs Minister, the NAWOJ leadership provides platforms of Hope, succour and relief to further drive the issues and concerns of Women in line with the Visions and Aspirations of The Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development in Nigeria.
Senator Uche Ekwunife, Senator Aishatu Binani and other Senators were also honoured in recognition of their roles in Advancing the Course of Women in the Country and doing so much for their People in their Constituencies.
The former President of NAWOJ, Rotn Evelyn Onyilo was equally honoured with an Award of Excellence. She is the Founder and President of INWOAD an NGO that brought succor to millions of families during COVID 19 and still counting, as well as being the Publisher of a florishing tabloid Phenomenal People Magazine.
The event had notable dignitaries in attendance including former Ministers,the President of the Albino Foundation, Mr Jake Epelle and the NUJ Chairman FCT Chapter, Comrade Emmanuel Ogbeche to mention a few.
