Engr. Stanley Labechi Mbam the commissioner for works in Ebonyi state as a way of contributing to the community that he grow up has commenced donation of Educational materials to about 16 schools in Ebonyi state.
Engr Mbam, who donated the materials through his foundation, SLM Foundation, commenced the distribution on Monday at his Alma mater, Nkaliki Primary School in Abakaliki local government targeting 5000 students.

He said the foundation, which had on 4th January, disbursed funds to medical students in his area, noted that the educational materials were to help improve the students learning.
Adding that it is a way of taking democracy to the grassroots because education is a priority in Governor Francis Nwifuru’s administration.
“Me standing before you today, I passed through this school. What I am trying to tell you is that where you started is not the issue but your commitment to your studies.
“Don’t belittle yourself because you are not studying under AC. It is God that lifts men; listen to your teacher; I want to encourage you to have vision and dream and run with it. Don’t be a student who plays in the school when class is going on; pay attention to what your teacher is teaching you and pray God will uplift you.

“The state government, under the leadership of Governor Francis Nwifuru, is taking education very seriously. It is contained in the people’s chart of needs, which he used during his campaign, and so far, he has been doing marvellously well establishing and building more modern classes for schools in rural communities and the scholarship program he introduced.
“This has attested that education is taken as a priority in this administration and I being Privileged to be part of this administration, in collaboration with my foundation am trying to replicate what the governor is doing which is why this year early last month( 4th January) we paid busry, give scholarship within my Foundation to students within Abakaliki council area.
“I also deem it necessary to come down to primary and secondary school level, which we captured about 16 schools across the three local governments in the Izzi clan that we shared educational materials. Just to assist them, I know this can’t take away all their burdens, but it is a way of assistance, and this is the way of taking the administration down to the grassroots.
