CHINEDU Ogah, the representative for the Ikwo/Ezza South federal constituency in Ebonyi State, recently offered scholarships to 300 orphans and vulnerable individuals in his constituency.
The lawmaker also covered the WAEC, NECO, and JAMB fees for over 3,000 candidates in the constituency, including inmates at the Abakaliki Correctional Center, totalling approximately N91 million. Specifically, Ogah allocated N91 million for scholarships, N76 million for WAEC, N41 million for NECO, N5.6 million for JAMB, and N3.9 million for the inmates taking the WAEC exams.

The kickoff event was held at Blessed Martins School of Health Sciences in Ohatekwe Amagu, Ikwo Local Government Area of the state.
In addition, he distributed 5,000 bags of fertilizer and over 1,000 bags of rice paddy to farmers in the constituency. Ogah emphasized that this initiative aims to promote literacy and enhance food security in the constituency and the state as a whole.
He explained, “We are distributing these inputs to the farmers early this year so that they will have a bumper harvest.”
Uzoamaka Nwifuru, the wife of the state governor, described the lawmaker as a great philanthropist and a true servant of the people.

She said that his efforts could transform lives and strengthen the constituency, aligning with the People’s Charter of Needs under Governor Francis Nwifuru’s administration.
“As the First Lady of the state and the founder of Better Life for Rural Women and Internally Displaced Persons Foundation (BERWO), and more importantly, as a mother, I am proud to witness such a comprehensive empowerment initiative that addresses key areas of development, including food security, education, and youth advancement,”.
Nwifuru, who regards farmers as the backbone of the state’s local economy, encouraged them to effectively utilize the improved farming inputs received from Ogah to help feed their families, the state, and the nation.
