The Acting Secretary of Christian Association of Nigeria CAN Taraba state Chapter, Rev. Dr. Phillip Micah Dopah has disclose that a country with high debt profile and high rate of corruption is a country without.
He made the disclosure during the end of year tenure and special award thanksgiving service held CAN Center, Jalingo.

“The Church is calling on President Ahmed BolaTinubu to form a reliable, dependable and strong economic team, that will come up with strong economic policies for better economic growth and development.
“Our President should know that Nigerians are crying and suffering. There is hunger in the land, high cost of living. The fuel subsidy is really taking a toll on many Nigerians.
“We are tired of collapsing of National Grid, the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer.
“A country with high debt profile and high rate of corruption is a country without hope.
He urge President Ahmed BolaTinubu to take the responsibility of the failure of his administration to end bad governance and get the country out of the present predicaments.
“So help him God, Amen.
He also call on the Church to always live to please God, be salt and light of the world.
“For long we are living in a nation without true God, without teaching peace and without law, with the forces of evil and manipulation from kingdom of darkness against the church.
“Let us love and pray for one another if the church must continue to survive in the next 30 -50 years to come.
He use the forum to appreciate Governor Dr. Agbu Kefas for his developmental initiatives in the state.
“Sir, in less than two years of your administration, you have already created generational impact in the areas of Education, Security, Agriculture, Attracting investors, showing commitment to pay N70,000 minimum wage with effect from November, 2024.
According to him, this will wipe out tears of Pensioners, Job creation especially women and youths that are working under operation keep Taraba clean.
On the issue of Charcoal, he pleaded with the government to allow people to go on with the businesses.
“Many people are dying in silence, Electricity is a problem, Gas is too expensive, Petrol is beyond the reach of common man.
“Charcoal that is from God to common man have become the source of pains to many people in Taraba state. We pray that those that are doing legal business of Charcoal, their issue should be revisited, while the illegal ones should be made to face the wrath of the law – he said.
According to him, the aim of the gathering is not to worship other gods, except Yaweh and to honur the creator, share love, fellowship to promote, appreciate some personalities, keep sustain and to maintain and promote the spirit of oneness and unity all to the Glory of God Almighty.
He warn Christians stop tribal sentiment in the state.
“We must stop tribal Christianity in the state. Some Christians when they get appointments, they only help those who their tribes and denomination are the same – he added.
In his message, the Guest Speaker, Rev. Joseph Titus Nagombe describe the day as giving thanks to God every time.
He spoke on the Theme: The Lord is good all the time, took the scriptural readings from the books of Ps 100:5 and Ps 34:8.
“The Scripture has made it clear to us that God is good all the time, no matter the situation we are passing through.
“When you find yourself in a position, it is very difficult, so you have to work with faith because you are controlling people of different religions. You will not look at your own religion, faith or tribe, but be neutral. You only look at the decision that is good for all people just as God who is the creator and father of all.
“It is good to see the goodness of God when life is difficult.
According to him, all that God created were good, but bad things came later as a result of handwork of men.
“We must return as Christians for our lives and cultures, no matter the situation, God is still existing. We must have to know our word and values, stand according to your value.
“Sometimes God gives us the chance to raise, but after that we dethrone him. This is an example of Governor of River state Fabura and his master Nyson Wike. We must approach God for everything to be good – he said.
In his goodwill messages, the Acting Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria CAN, Rev. Iro Moses Alyuda, caution Christians from depending and relying on social media news, adding that most of the news are not true.
He urge Christians to practice what thy preach.
“Some of those things we preach are very contradictory especially during elections. Election will come and go and the church remain.
“Where their is no peace, no Development, what you did not hear keep quiet.
“Social Media is not where to solve problem, but the Church. Let us forget about Social Media.
He assured that CAN Election would be one and peaceful.
